The resort on Lindeman Island takes up only a small part of the island which is all National Park covering an area of about 20 square kilometres. This is a bushwalker’s dream island, with 19kms of well maintained walking trails throughout untouched bushland.
The most southerly of the Whitsunday Islands, Lindeman Island is a tropical paradise off the coast from Airlie Beach. From the top of Mt. Oldfield, 212m above sea level, the 360 dgree view is nothing short of spectacular. On a clear day you can see Hamilton, Whitsunday and Haslewood Islands as well as many of the smaller ones.
Humpback whales can often be seen from the shore, a sight not to be forgotten. You will also frequently find Dolphins playing near the shore. On Lindeman, golden orchids also grow on the mangroves at the end of the beach and over 90 species of birds dart through the trees.
Lindeman Island has many breathtaking beaches that prove perfect for snorkelling or simply relaxing. For those seeking more privacy there are a number of uninhabited islands just a short boat ride away. Lindeman also has its own airstrip.
